Tears, wrinkles, and dirt paradoxically accentuate individuality in a universal visual that is standardized based on an individual's body shape, daily activities, and occupational specialty.
I wanted to create a design that captures the beauty that appears during the process. Then I came across an old photo of a nondescript torn mitt that had been left on the stove at my parents' home.
Rather than workwear that has been pre-damaged to resemble a certain occupation, we cut out the torn parts and continued them to create workwear, a material that has yet to be imagined.
