Nobuyuki Matsui

Designer: Nobuyuki Matsui Nobuyuki Matsui is a fashion brand created by designer Nobuyuki Matsui. After graduating from high school, Matsui moved to the UK and majored in psychology, but enrolled at the London College of Fashion in 2011. He studied menswear and, while still a student, won Fashion Scout, a fashion contest for young designers held at London Fashion Week, and held a runway show. He then gained experience working for young fashion houses before returning to Japan. With the Fall/Winter 2016 collection, he officially launched his eponymous brand, "Nobuyuki Matsui." He presents bespoke clothing in the form of a collection. He handles everything from patterns to sewing and fabric processing himself, and presents them as made-to-order clothing and sometimes as artwork. For Spring/Summer 2018, he launched his first ready-to-wear collection.
