BUZIGAHILL
An apparel brand by designer Bobby Kolade.
Based in Kampala, Uganda, the brand operates at the intersection of art, fashion, and activism. Their first project series, called RETURN TO SENDER, redesigns used clothing. In Uganda, used clothing accounts for 80% of all clothing purchased domestically, hindering the revival of the local textile industry. Buzigahill takes these used clothes and, as uniquely redesigned items, sends them back to the Global North where they were originally made. Furthermore, they collaborate with Ugandan visual artists, designers, second-hand market vendors, and artisans' workshops to add value to the local supply chain and develop a strong creative industry.
