BUZIGAHILL
An apparel brand by designer Bobby Kolade.
Based in Kampala, Uganda, the brand operates at the intersection of art, fashion, and activism. In its first project series called "RETURN TO SENDER," vintage clothing is redesigned. In Uganda, used clothing accounts for 80% of all garments purchased in the country, hindering the revival of the local textile industry. Buzigahill takes these used clothes, redesigns them into one-of-a-kind products, and sends them back to the Global North, where they were originally produced. Furthermore, by collaborating with Ugandan visual artists, designers, vendors from second-hand markets, and artisan workshops, the brand adds value to the local supply chain and fosters a strong creative industry.
