BUZIGAHILL
An apparel brand by designer Bobby Kolade.
Based in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, this brand operates at the intersection of art, fashion, and activism. In their first project series, called RETURN TO SENDER, they redesign used clothing. In Uganda, used clothing accounts for 80% of all clothing purchased domestically, hindering the revival of the local textile industry. BUZIGAHILL sends these used clothes, as redesigned, unique products, back to the Global North where they were originally made. Furthermore, they collaborate with Ugandan visual artists, designers, used goods market vendors, and artisan workshops to add value to the local supply chain and develop a strong creative industry.
