BUZIGAHILL
An apparel brand by designer Bobby Kolade.
Based in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, this brand operates at the intersection of art, fashion, and activism. Their first project series, called RETURN TO SENDER, redesigns used clothing. In Uganda, used clothing accounts for 80% of all apparel purchased in the country, hindering the revival of the local textile industry. BUZIGAHILL redesigns these used garments into unique items and sends them back to the Global North, where they were originally manufactured. Furthermore, they collaborate with Ugandan visual artists, designers, used goods market vendors, and artisan workshops, adding value to the local supply chain and fostering a strong creative industry.
