BUZIGAHILL
An apparel brand by designer Bobby Kolade.
Based in Kampala, Uganda, the brand operates at the intersection of art, fashion, and activism. In its first project series, called RETURN TO SENDER, BUZIGAHILL redesigns used clothing. In Uganda, used clothing accounts for 80% of all clothing purchased domestically, hindering the revitalization of the local textile industry. BUZIGAHILL takes these used clothes and, as uniquely redesigned products, sends them back to the Global North where they were originally made. Furthermore, BUZIGAHILL collaborates with Ugandan visual artists, designers, used goods market vendors, and artisan workshops to add value to the local supply chain and develop a strong creative industry.
