This is a new open-collar shirt made from a mixed-weave broadcloth fabric, with thick cotton yarns for the warp and fine rayon yarns for the weft.
The mixed-weave broadcloth, which has a slightly heavier feel than 100% cotton, ensures that the garment doesn't feel too light when worn. When combined with the open-collar detail, which often has a strong spring/summer connotation, it creates a seasonless balance.
The color is also distinctive: since cotton has a higher absorption rate than rayon, the navy achieves a deep, eggplant-like tone that will age beautifully.
The embroidery features "Beautiful Soul" expressed in Arabic.
Inspired by American vintage styles, the open collar is designed with a slight forward slope to better suit Japanese bone structures, creating a more elegant impression when worn.
The shirt combines high-quality craftsmanship with a refined mood, featuring a cuff attachment made with a "ittekoi" (turned-back) specification without a sleeve placket, side pleats on the back yoke, careful French seams and a three-fold hem sewn at a shirt factory in Tokyo.
The buttons used for the navy shirt were garment-dyed to give them depth and a harmonious look, and the embroidery uses covering threads that won't transfer color to the main fabric, even after many washes.
The Arabic design is further abstracted by manipulating the thread tension on a special embroidery machine.
