NOCHINO OPTICAL "ONDA"
ONDA from NOCHINO OPTICAL.
This 60's American-style square-shaped model is known in the vintage enthusiast industry for its high transaction prices.
Inheriting its DNA, the "ONDA" features a simple plastic frame equipped with sturdy seven-barrel hinges, and four handcrafted joints of plastic and metal parts using traditional single-diamond rivets for an accent.
The nose pads, which are crucial for eyewear, are made of allergy-free titanium with nose arm specifications, offering not only comfort but also a finish of the highest quality, completely different from vintage or restored items.
Among previous NOCHINO collections, this model has a narrow vertical width, characteristic of 90s culture, yet achieves a timeless "essence" with a moderate "rounded surface" on the 6mm thick front.
Unlike the typical front and side differences seen in vintage circles, we intentionally avoided them. Instead, after assembly, we take the extra step of "surface alignment" (Tsura-awase) to further polish everything, realizing a connected sense of unity and an organic sheen when viewed from an angle.
Furthermore, the 4mm thick plastic temples, which rest on the ears, have metal cores manually embedded one by one by skilled, dedicated craftsmen in Sabae using a traditional method called the shooting technique, serving to allow for adjustments and prevent age-related deterioration.
